PENGEMBANGAN PERTANIAN DI DAERAH ALIRAN SUNGAI (DAS) MAMBERAMO, IRIAN JAYA (STUDI KASUS DI DABRA, KECAMATAN MAMBERAMO HULU, KABUPATEN JAYAPURA)

ABSTRACT

Irian Jaya is one of Eastern Indonesia province, which needs acceleration for region development. One of potential in that province is Mambaramo valley which has area of 80 thousands meter square. This case study was conducted in Dabra village, Mamberamo Hulu Subdistrict, Jayapura District. Most information were obtained from field observation. Secondary data were collected from many kinds of maps, such as geological map, land use map, topography map, climate, and hydrologycal map. Primary data covered of soil data taken through profile examination and laboratory analysis of soil sample taken in slope transect from the top to Mamberamo River. Mamberamo watershed mostly has a type climate, which has more than 9 wet months. The average temperature is 193-27,3oC. Mamberamo watershed is part of Northern Central Mountain range. The upper of Mamberamo river consists of Edinburg (Taritatu) river in the Eastern and Ruffaer (Tariku) river in the Western. With the consideration of soil, environment, flora, and follows. Region with the altitude of more than 2000 m above sea level, should be used as conservation area due to rich in biodiversity and potential erosion. Agricultural area can be developed in the region with the altitude of less than 1000 above sea levels especially along Mamberamo valley, which still make consideration of specific area biodiversity conservation.
